If you told Pats Nation two years ago that K'Lavon Chaisson would be our most important pending free agent, most of us would've laughed. But here we are — and the man absolutely earned it.

Chaisson put together a monster 2025 campaign with 10.5 sacks, transforming from a former first-round bust in Jacksonville to a legitimate edge-rushing force in New England. His resurgence under the Patriots' coaching staff was one of the best stories of the season.

The good news? Chaisson wants to come back. He's spoken publicly about his desire to remain in Foxborough, and the feeling appears to be mutual. The coaching staff loves his motor and the leadership he brings to the defensive line room.

With edge rusher being the team's number-one need, re-signing Chaisson provides a known commodity while the Patriots use the draft to add more pass-rushing talent. You can never have too many guys who can get after the quarterback.

Make this happen, Eliot. Chaisson has earned a seat at the table.
