If you thought the A.J. Brown asking price was steep, wait until you hear what the Raiders want for Maxx Crosby. Las Vegas is reportedly demanding a "Micah Parsons-type package" — we're talking two first-round picks AND a player. That's absolutely wild.

The connection is real though, Pats Nation. Crosby has publicly expressed interest in playing for Mike Vrabel, and given that our biggest need is edge rusher, the fit makes almost too much sense. Crosby is one of the most relentless pass rushers in football, and pairing him with our young defensive core would be terrifying for opposing offenses.

But Raiders GM Tom Telesco says he expects Crosby to remain in Las Vegas, and at that asking price, it's hard to see Eliot Wolf pulling the trigger. We have pick #31 and 11 total selections — giving up two firsts would gut our ability to build through the draft.

Sometimes the best move is the one you don't make. Unless Vegas comes way down on that price, expect the Patriots to address edge rusher through the draft and free agency instead.
