Four straight days of camp will do that. The Patriots rolled through their first real stretch of training camp intensity, and now Mike Vrabel is fielding injury questions before Friday's scrimmage. Will Campbell, Brenden Schooler, and Romeo Doubs are among the names dealing with something, and while preseason bumps are normal, the timing matters when you're trying to evaluate a rebuilt roster.

This is where depth charts get tested. Campbell is a tackle in a position group that's still sorting itself out on the offensive line—you need bodies healthy to figure out who actually wins those battles. Schooler in the secondary, Doubs on the perimeter—these aren't back-of-the-roster guys we're talking about. These are contributors in a rotation that Vrabel and GM Eliot Wolf are still building confidence in. Every day matters right now.

The real question is severity. Training camp injuries run the spectrum from "held out for precaution" to "heading to the operating table." Vrabel's track record is pragmatic—he's not going to risk long-term health for August reps—but we won't know the actual impact until we see who takes reps tomorrow and beyond. If these are minor soft-tissue situations, fine. A few days off and they're back. If they're structural, the depth chart conversation changes fast.

The Patriots have built enough depth that they can weather a few bumps, particularly on the offensive line where they've stacked bodies, and at cornerback where the roster runs deep. But this is also a team still trying to establish chemistry with a new coaching staff. Every rep matters. When you're holding guys out, you're not just sitting them—you're potentially delaying their integration with what Vrabel wants to build defensively and offensively.

This is why the scrimmage today becomes important. It's the first real look at how this team performs when things get competitive. Injuries or not, Vrabel will learn something about his roster's durability and his plan's flexibility.
