This might be the best news of the offseason that isn't getting enough attention. QB coach Ashton Grant declined an interview for the Raiders' offensive coordinator position. He's staying in Foxborough, Pats Nation.
The importance of this cannot be overstated. Grant has been instrumental in Drake Maye's development, helping transform the young quarterback from a promising rookie into an MVP-caliber player. That coach-quarterback relationship is sacred, and maintaining it heading into Year 3 is absolutely critical.
Think about it: Maye threw for a 72% completion rate, 8.9 yards per attempt, and posted a 113.6 passer rating in 2025. Grant deserves a massive share of the credit for putting Maye in position to succeed and refining his mechanics and decision-making.
The Raiders' loss is our gain. Grant clearly believes in what's being built in New England, and he's betting on himself and Maye to accomplish even more together. That kind of loyalty and commitment is rare in the coaching carousel.
